Reduces The Size Of The Marketplace and Job Creation
- The Department of Health has moved against the intent of Amendment 2 by limiting the size of the marketplace and has catered to special interests by picking and choosing who will have access.
- There are currently only 7 dispensing organizations allowed to grow marijuana, which has driven up the prices on the consumer and has limited patient access.
- By limiting the number of licenses, DOH is stifling Governors Scott’s goal of creating jobs specifically among minority owned farms which have not been awarded licenses despite promises to do so.
- By having a limited number of licenses it creates a lack of diversity in treatable products while increasing the length of delivery routes and product cost.
